TEFL ACCREDITATION
ALL THE TRUST WITHOUT THE COST
ITEFLOCA are the new players in a worn-out industry; trust us to give your students peace of mind and use the money saved to help them save in turn.
ITEFLOCA are the new players in a worn-out industry; trust us to give your students peace of mind and use the money saved to help them save in turn.
Our pricing is transparent. You know from the start exactly what you'll pay for our services: a fixed initial fee, annual membership, and a 5-yearly re-accreditation.
Our policies are transparent and publicly viewable. TEFL students can view exactly how we measure and validate the TEFL courses that we accredit.
Our accreditors are qualified and experienced language teachers with in-depth knowledge of the TEFL industry. We know what teachers need to know and we make sure courses teach it.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between International TEFL Online Course Accreditation (“ITEFLOCA”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and TEFL course providers (“Provider”, “you”, “your”) seeking or holding accreditation for their courses.
1.1 “Accreditation” means the formal recognition granted by ITEFLOCA that a TEFL course meets or exceeds our established standards.
1.2 “Accreditation Fee” means the fee charged for the accreditation review process.
1.3 “Annual Membership Fee” means the fee charged annually to maintain accreditation status after the first year.
1.4 “ITEFLOCA Standards” means the published criteria used to evaluate TEFL courses for accreditation.
1.5 “Provisional Accreditation” means accreditation granted to courses that meet most standards but have up to three areas rated as “Almost” meeting requirements.
2.1 By submitting an application for accreditation, you confirm that all information provided is true, accurate, and complete.
2.2 You agree to provide ITEFLOCA reviewers with full and unrestricted access to all courses submitted for accreditation.
2.3 You understand that the accreditation process involves an evaluation of your course(s) against ITEFLOCA Standards using the “Meets,” “Almost,” or “Not Yet” rating system.
2.4 You acknowledge that ITEFLOCA aims to complete the review process within 1-2 weeks of receiving course access and the initial deposit, but this time frame is not guaranteed.
2.5 You understand that ITEFLOCA reserves the right to request additional information or clarification during the review process.
3.1 You agree to pay 50% of the Accreditation Fee as a non-refundable deposit at the time of application.
3.2 The remaining 50% of the Accreditation Fee is due once the review has been completed and accreditation status has been confirmed. Courses which do not receive accreditation and opt to discontinue the application rather than making necessary amendments to gain accreditation will have the second half of the fee waived.
3.3 Annual Membership Fees will be charged for each subsequent year to maintain accreditation status, with the first year’s membership included in the initial Accreditation Fee.
3.4 All fees are non-refundable except in cases where ITEFLOCA fails to complete the review process within 30 days of receiving full course access and the initial deposit.
3.5 ITEFLOCA reserves the right to adjust fee structures prior to the accreditation process beginning unless a provider has paid the initial fee (50%). Once a provider has paid the 50% accreditation fee, the initial and five-year accreditation fees as well as membership fees for years 2 to 5 are locked at the initial contracted price. After this 5 year period, should ITEFLOCA wish to amend the fee structure for any organization, we must provide you with at least 30 days notice of our intention to raise fees, which cannot be any more than 50% higher than the last price paid for each service. This 50% maximum continues to be true for the subsequent five year period also.
4.1 You acknowledge that accreditation decisions are made based on the following criteria:
4.2 You understand that Provisional Accreditation requires improvement of at least one “Almost” rating to “Meets” within the first year.
4.3 You agree to accept the accreditation decision, with the option to appeal as outlined in the ITEFLOCA Appeals Process.
5.1 You agree to maintain compliance with all ITEFLOCA Standards throughout the accreditation period.
5.2 You commit to undergo a complete re-accreditation review every five years to maintain accreditation status.
5.3 You will notify ITEFLOCA of any significant changes to accredited courses that may affect compliance with ITEFLOCA Standards.
5.4 You agree to respond to annual verification checks and requests for information from ITEFLOCA within specified timeframes.
6.1 Upon receiving accreditation, you may display the appropriate ITEFLOCA accreditation badge/seal on your website and marketing materials.
6.2 You agree to accurately represent your accreditation status and not to misrepresent the scope or nature of your accreditation.
6.3 You will not use ITEFLOCA accreditation in a manner that brings ITEFLOCA into disrepute.
6.4 You understand that ITEFLOCA will list basic information about your accredited courses in its public directory of accredited providers.
7.1 ITEFLOCA reserves the right to suspend or revoke accreditation if:
7.2 You may voluntarily withdraw from accreditation by providing 30 days’ written notice to ITEFLOCA but will not be entitled to any refund of any kind unless by reasons specified under our appeals.
7.3 Upon termination or withdrawal of accreditation, you must immediately:
8.1 ITEFLOCA’s liability for any claims arising from the accreditation process or these Terms shall be limited to the amount of fees paid by the Provider.
8.2 ITEFLOCA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
8.3 ITEFLOCA does not guarantee specific outcomes for providers as a result of accreditation.
9.1 ITEFLOCA will treat course materials and proprietary information as confidential, using it solely for accreditation purposes.
9.2 You consent to ITEFLOCA processing your data as outlined in the ITEFLOCA Privacy Policy.
9.3 You authorize ITEFLOCA to publish basic information about your accredited courses in its directory.
10.1 ITEFLOCA may modify these Terms with 30 days’ notice to accredited providers.
10.2 Continued use of ITEFLOCA accreditation after such notice constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
11.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
11.2 Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
